Interview

by Scott Hope

Scott: What shows have you played recently?

Eerie Ln: We recently played in Lawton ,Oklahoma at the Rail Head Saloon. We are booked in San Antonio on the 30th of March and we hope to go to New Orleans and Austin,Texas after that.

Scott: What stage props do you have?

Eerie Ln: We have some life-size skulls I painted up all voodoo looking on our mic stands. We have jack-o-lanterns on our amps. My brother Hell Hounds drumset has 5 life-size skulls posted on his cymbal stands. His bass drum has a jack-o-lantern on it and we use a small strobe light in it to make it flash. Cow skulls. Dead things.

Scott: I like all the song titles. What seems to be the crowds favorite?

Eerie Ln: When we put out "Ramma Lamma" everyone dug "Machine Girl". On "Nice Planet" everyone dug "Beware". Our first CD "tenthirtyone" had a couple. "Creepy Crawl" and "Tomb of Blood", "the Bite" and the title track all went over well. Our new CD "Voodoo Music Box" it seems everyone is into "Raccoon City Rock" and "Season of the Witch."

Scott: How long did it take to record "Ramma Lamma Kill Kill"?

Eerie Ln: We recorded "Ramma Lamma" in 8 hours of studio time. "Nice Planet" was done in I think 10 hours? I don't remember. And both of the CD's were done in 24 hours.

Scott: Does "horror metal" go over well in Fort Worth?

Eerie Ln: No. People hate us here it seems. You have to copy Pantera or be death metal to be around here. We do better everywhere else.

Scott: What is one consistent thing a band should maintain?

Eerie Ln: A steady line-up. That's what has kept us down so long. Scott: How do you handle groupies?

Eerie Ln: Depends on the situation. We all have steady relationships so we don't deal with sluts at all.

Scott: What cover songs have you done?

Eerie Ln: Too many to mention. We have recorded "London Dungeon" "Last Caress" and "Ratt Fink" by the Misfits and "Great Balls of Fire" by Jerry Lee Lewis.

Scott: Concerning the Misfits, a band you cherish, why do you think their legacy is so enduring?

Eerie Ln: They rule. It's simple as that. Good strong songs and an even stronger visual image. We hope our legacy lasts a fraction as long as theirs has. Thanks a lot for the interview. We have a website up at www.eerieln.com and people can write me at gruesome13@mailcity.com. Thanks again and happy hauntings !
